Ion-Asia has partnered with AWC to address two of Singapore’s most critical water-treatment challenges: Silica scaling & Membrane Biofouling. Unlike conventional scale-formers such as calcium carbonate, silica polymerizes into a dense, amorphous gel that is hard to control and can severely impact membrane performance and operational reliability.
Through this partnership, Ion-Asia offers advanced AWC silica-control technologies designed for demanding industrial and municipal water applications in Singapore:
Targeted Inhibition: Products like AWC® A-103 inhibit silica polymerization at very high saturation levels, effective up to an MSI (Membrane Saturation Index) of 12.
Silica "Disruptors": Instead of just holding silica in solution, their "Si" product line (e.g., Pureflux® Si and Ultraflux™ Si) acts as a broad-spectrum disruptor. These chemicals interfere with silica lattice growth, keeping silica in a non-adherent colloidal state that the concentrate stream can easily sweep away.
Managing Complex Interactions: A major challenge in water reuse is that silica often forms complex scales with aluminum or iron (e.g., aluminum silicate). AWC offers specialized solutions such as A-119 and Megaflux® Fe, formulated to prevent these metal-silicates from binding to the membrane surface.
High-pH Chemical Cleaning Performance: Cleanflux™ Bio operates at an alkaline pH of 11.0–12.0, enabling effective hydrolysis and removal of organic foulants and biological deposits. This chemical action destroys the structures binding biofilms to the membrane. It restores membrane efficiency, improves system reliability, and reduces operational downtime.
Specialized CIP Methodology for Deep Cleaning: AWC’s advanced Clean-In-Place (CIP) process combines controlled circulation, soaking cycles, and optional heat activation to maximize cleaning effectiveness. This process allows the cleaning solution to deeply penetrate stubborn bio-slime deposits. It supports long-term membrane protection and sustainable water treatment operations across Singapore.

What Is ION ScaleBuster?
ION ScaleBuster is a patented water conditioner that prevents scale and corrosion with electrostatic technology. It uses a mix of special plastics, metals, and hydrodynamic conditions. The device does not need chemicals, electricity, or moving parts.
When water moves through the chamber, cavitation breaks apart bicarbonate molecules. The zinc anode and dielectric materials create static effects, so hardness minerals form suspended carbonates instead of building up on surfaces.
The treated water is less saturated and slowly removes existing scale from pipes and equipment. This process continues as the water keeps circulating.

Water Enters the Chamber
Water flowing through the ScaleBuster unit causes hydrodynamic cavitation, creating rapid pressure changes inside the chamber that disrupt the molecular structure of dissolved bicarbonates.
Crystal Precipitation
Electrostatic and galvanizing action breaks down calcium and magnesium bicarbonates, causing them to form harmless carbonate crystals that stay suspended in the water rather than adhering to surfaces.
Scale & Corrosion Inhibition

How It Works
The Clemons Sand Separator operates on a simple yet highly effective centrifugal separation principle. As water enters the separator, it is forced into a circular flow pattern. This creates centrifugal force, throwing heavier sand and sediment particles outward toward the separator walls. The particles settle downward and accumulate at the bottom of the unit, while the cleaner, particle-free water rises and exits through the top outlet — delivering continuous, efficient solids removal with no filter media or moving parts.
